L-I-V-I-N'

Obviously Matthew McConaughey thinks baby carriers are all right, all right, all right ...

Jen keeps saying I should wear ours ... mine ... at the IC Carnival next weekend. I keep telling her that's a no go, because if I'm wearing one it's a guarantee that I'll stumble (not fall) while holding a beer. That would lead people to think I was drunk while carrying the baby.

I'd rather push her in the stroller while sipping a beer. Safer for the image that way, I think.

I am stylish

Remember that earlier post about shorts and a blazer?

Yeah, I wore that Saturday night to Rolando's for Angie's birthday dinner. I was stylin' and profilin'. And didn't get any odd looks (except from Steve, Jason and Nash).

What do y'all think?

Earlier this summer, I saw an article in Esquire about wearing shorts with a blazer. I thought it looked pretty cool (full disclosure: I was a hardcore preppy once upon a time) and have even considered trying it. But only once the temperature drops below 90. No way am I putting on any sort of coat when it's 104.

Now, the NYT has an article about the trend ...

So am I crazy? Would I look unbelievably stupid dressed like that?

Zappos.com is awesome

Skipped out of work a little early and came home to two packages on the front steps. One of them was from Zappos, the site where Jen ordered the tie-dyed Chuck Taylors.

Seems she got a free upgrade to priority overnight as a thank you for making an order.

So, yeah, I'm wearing them right now ...

Sweet

How awesome are these?

UPDATE

My dear bride surprised me with an early birthday gift tonight. Yes, she ordered these today. (Thanks for the tip, Angie.)

When I got home from work, she asked if I wanted an early birthday gift. I'd been joking about how I should be getting one gift each day leading up to my birthday. I figured she'd bought me some Swiss Cake Rolls (nom, nom, nom) since she'd just come from the grocery store.

Instead, she shocked me with the printed-out receipt for these super-sweet, totally-groovy sneakers!

Why didn't I think of that!?!

Empty beer cans + tin snips + simple jewelry-making skills = Cool stuff and big profits

Bracelet $90 ...

Ring $40 ...
