The Price Was Right
Exactly right in the Showcase Showdown, for only the second time in TPIR's history ...
If you're wondering why Drew Carey wasn't more excited, it seems there was about a 30-minute delay between the bidding and the reveal. Somebody in the audience shouted out the exact bid and producers met to decide if it was kosher to continue.

I thought of Sean (and Sean)
On storm stories, TV reporters are required to interact with the weather and become, potentially, human sacrifices to it.
This makes weather reporting different than every other kind of breaking TV news story. No one covers a house fire by rushing into the burning building, or reports on a war by doing stand-ups in the middle of a tank battle.

RIP
First Jim McKay, then Fort Smith's Charlie Jones, then Tim Russert. That trifecta of announcers dying in a span of six days was a shock.
Sure, McKay and Jones were getting up there in years. But for those of us of a certain age, McKay and Jones were the voices we first associated with sports. Russert dying at 58(!) was even worse because 58 ain't old anymore.
And, now, the guy those of us of a certain age associate with standup comedy has died. I honestly don't remember the first time I saw or heard Carlin. It was probably during my teen years when I discovered how to jerry-rig the Atari attachment on the back of the TV to get scrambled HBO. But I do know I've always enjoyed his act, even when I didn't agree with all his views ...

"Fort Smith" coming to your TV
Seems the producer of "24" is working on a western called "Fort Smith" for AMC TV.

Oscar choices
Given I didn't see any of the movies nominated for an Academy Award (how didn't "Knocked Up" or "Superbad" get nominated!?!) here are my choices for tonight's Academy Awards ...
HGTV's "Luxurious Log Homes"
Discovery Channel's "Dirty Jobs" - that Mike Rowe cracks me up, he's a funny, funny man
Whatever huntin' (yeah, there's no "g" on there, that's how it's pronounced) shows on the Outdoor Network
"FIFA Soccer" on the PS3
If Will Ferrell shows up and does something funny on the Oscars show, I'll watch it on YouTube.

Lost
So now there's a ghostwhisperer, physicist, archaeologist and drunken marine biologist/Oceanic pilot on the island? And they're looking for Benjamin? Who has a man on their ship feeding him info?

Whenever we're watching Lost, Jen will turn to me after these weird plot twists and ask for an explanation. Half the time, I just have to say "I have no freakin' clue either." I've almost given up trying to figure out what's going on with this show, but I keep watching.
And Survivor returned last night (the TV show, not the band). So that's good.

Man, there's nothing on TV during the week
If it wasn't for Law & Order reruns, there would be nothing on TV this afternoon.
Oral surgery went well. I'm not even taking pain meds today ... because I'm tough. No really, there's not been much pain at all after the first few hours.
